What does the Bible say about small groups like Wesley Groups?

Acts 2:46 says Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart.”  The early church had their worship service on Sunday and  built authentic relationships in small groups.

What are the benefits of having diverse group make-ups?

The analogy Paul uses in 1st Corinthians shows the need for diversity in order for the body of Christ to reach its full potential. Wesley Groups are meant to serve all people, and may be diverse in age, backgrounds and talents.

What makes Epworth’s Wesley Groups different from other groups?

While other groups, such as Emmaus Share groups or Bible Study groups, are very important in our lives, Epworth’s Wesley Groups will focus on forming relationships that will provide long term connections within the church.

 Will childcare be provided?

 Consideration will be given to this issue when groups are assigned.   Our goal is that childcare would never interfere with anyone’s ability to be involved in a group.

 Will my Wesley Group be focused on a particular task or ministry?

The main focus will be to establish relationship with other Christians through a healthy level of prayer, fellowship, and Bible study.  However, all groups are encouraged to act upon their passion by serving as the hands and feet of Christ in a chosen area of ministry.
